Today Chloe''s great grandfather, Harry Glen Parr, was buried at Ft. Benning cemetary in Columbus, GA. Chloe was his little princess, and we will all miss him very much. We called him Opa, German for Grandpa, and now Tom, Chloe''s step-grandfather, has taken on the name of Opa.
Today Chloe mimicked me by sticking out her tongue. Now she gets really excited when I do it and will do it in return. Her personality is really starting to shine, and is bringing such joy to our lives. What a beautiful blessing!
Chloe had her first solids today!! Well, it was rice cereal mixed with formula, but it still counts as a solid. She just had a growth spurt, and I am putting away clothes that she doesn''t fit into anymore. :( My itty bitty baby isn''t so itty bitty anymore! We went to meet our newest addition to the Phillips family, little Greyson Hayes Rector. He''s so adorable, and it amazed me to realize that Chloe was that small not too long ago. They grow so fast!
Chloe is very quickly on her way to crawling. She''s rolling all over her crib and the floor and starting to get up on her knees. As soon as she learns to get up on her hands and knees at the same time she''s going to take off! Lord help me....
Little Chlo-bug sure has changed in the past month. She''s now officially into size 3 months (right on target, as she''s 3 months today!), she has the "full body" smiles now, and is quite responsive to people. She is now sleeping through the night in her crib (YAY!!), plays with her toys and hands, found her toes (Mommy showed them to her), and enjoys watching the TV. She loves to look around at the sights when we are out and about. I''m sure there''s lots more, but that''s all that comes to the top of my head right now.
Chloe had her two month dr apt today. She is now 10 lbs 2 oz and 22.5" long. The dr was impressed that she rolled over before 6 weeks of age, and said that she looks perfect. She had her first shots, and not only did she cry, but mommy cried too!! It was heartbreaking watching her get her shots. :( She is fairing the immunizations very well, and is a very happy baby. Go Chloe!!
My friend Lori took does professional pics of infants (also maternity and children), and did an awesome job on Chloe''s pics. Let me know if anyone is interested and I''ll pass on her contact information.
Today is the first time Chloe rolled from her stomach to her back. We were at Aunt Ginger''s and Uncle Tommy''s house and all the girls were sitting on the floor around Chloe while she was having her "Tummy Time" and she rolled right on over. We were all silent in shock, and then we all started cheering...I think we scared Chloe half to death!! I''m so proud!
Today was the day!! I started having contractions at 8 AM, but they were irregular, so I counted and waited. By noon, they were still irregular, but increasing in intensity, so I called the dr. They told me I could come in and get checked, or I could go to the hospital. I decided to get checked at the Dr''s office, so I didn''t waste a trip to the hospital. I was at the Dr''s office by 1 PM, and they checked me and told me it''s time for me to go to the hospital. As soon as they told me that I called Joey and told him to head to the house and that it was time to go to the hospital. He was quite entertaining, as he was very anxious and drove home and to the hospital like his head was on fire!! We checked in at 3 PM, and the contractions were gaining strength. They gave me some pain medication through my IV, and shortly after I said I was ready for the epidural. Once they gave me the epidural the contractions stopped, so they gave me patocin and they started back up and were much stronger, not that I felt much of them. They estimated that it would take a while, so my family went to grab dinner. Very shortly after that, I started feeling a lot of pressure and the nurse checked me and said it was because her head was in my birth canal! At that point it got hectic. I told Joey to call Brandi, as she was supposed to be in the delivery room and had left with the family to grab dinner, and I told him to get the Dr, because the nurses left the room (prob to get the Dr!). About 15 minutes later, at 6:53 PM Chloe arrived! She scored a 9 out of 10 on her tests, and was absolutely perfect...of course, she still is!!!
We had a great dr apt today. The last ultrasound was done, and they estimate that Chloe is just over 6 lbs, which puts her at 58 percentile for her gestational age. That is such a relief, as I was afraid she was going to be a monster! I am 1 cm dialated, and 50% effaced, which means I could go into labor tomorrow or weeks from now. The dr told me that if I went into labor now that they wouldn''t stop it. :o) So, whenever little Ms. Chloe is ready we are good to go.
I''ve started getting all her clothes washed, and I have a good head start on packing my hospital bag. Last night I was having a lot of pain, and it made me nervous, so I worked on the hospital bag. Hehehe...
I''m also working on getting the nursery organized. My sister-in-law, Ginger, and two of her daughters, some of my lovely neices, came over one day last week while I was gone and painted the baby room! It looks GREAT! Once I get the room a little more organized I''m going to take pictures and I''ll post them on here for all to see.
We hope all is well, and can''t wait to introduce our new little package when she is delivered!
